Finding your tribe with Cali Girl Glampers

In our January 30, 2020 podcast we talked about finding your tribe. I seem to have several tribes. And that’s a good thing - variety IS the spice of life, after all!

Cali Girl Glampers

The Cali Girl Glampers are the group I turn to for camping and day trips, when I don’t want to go far from home. Their events are easy to find and centrally located in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and Lake Counties.

Dominica Rossman and Lorena Garbarino coordinate and host a variety of gatherings including craft workshops, chocolate tasting, wine tasing, antique shopping tours, coffee and bakery tours, star gazing, lunch dates, hikes, walking tours, art tours… pretty much anything available in the area is fair game to this group of adventurers. And during the tough “Shelter in Place” they even organized Zoom parties and Facebook Live events!

Dominica told me “We have been able to connect with a lot of women who can't join in on events cause the events are too far away. Many have met ladies who live close to them while attending day events.”

Glamping

Many of the events include a campout. Or I should say a glampout. Because these ladies love Glamping! No roughing it with these ladies. After all, the group is just as likely to enjoy a cobbler made in a dutch oven on the fire pit as they are to tour a fancy coffeehouse or tour their champagne dreams. There are so many beautiful camping destinations in the area. Trips have been planned to Point Reyes National Seashore, Sonoma Coast, Mt. Konocti, and the majestic Mt. Shasta just to name a few.

Arts and Crafts

If you like to Do It Yourself, you are going to want to join a DIY Weekend with the Cali Girl Glampers. With trips focusing on making jam, sausage, dutch oven meals, embroidery, floral decorations and much more, what a great way to spend time with other like-minded crafty gals.

Eating and Drinking

I mean really, isn’t this what it all boils down to? OK, maybe not for everyone. But I can’t resist a tour of a patisserie, chocolate shop, or winery. And don’t forget your hat if you join us for high tea!

Tours and Day Trips

If you don’t have time for a weekend of glamping, you might join the girls on an outing to tour art galleries, go blueberry picking, learn about raising chickens, or spend an evening star gazing. Or one of my favorite outings, spending the day in antique stores. I always find a little something that would be perfect for my house or camper!
