Campground game: Yamslam is fun and easy

Campground game: Yamslam is fun and easy

If you’re into playing games at the campground in your RV there are a few factors that may make a difference: the size of the game and ease of play. Bonus if there aren’t any small pieces to get lost at night. With those criteria, plus being fun to play, we picked up Yamslam on our recent trip to Mendocino.

Created by BlueOrange Game, Yamslam is a simple game consisting of five dice and 28 chips in a metal container that easily fits into a drawer. The container also acts to keep the dice in check during play, again minimizing the loss of the pieces when playing a the campground.

Very simply the game consists of rolling the dice and coming up with combinations that earn you chips from the outside of the game. The game can be played by one to four players.

You can play strategically or just collect chips so there’s something for just about all levels of interest. It’s a really, really simple game to play but once you add strategy it does increase the fun. There’s even a very specific travel version available, though we bought the full-sized version and it’s certainly compact enough even for our small RV.

I like that the game play can be relatively short but you can extend it by having various heats. Overall this was a good investment that will likely stay in our camper and be a fun thing to break out. It’s also simple enough to be played as the evening wears on and the drinks kick in.
