A thirst for variety - Pops Soda Ranch in Arcadia Oklahoma
Hundreds of sodas at Pops Soda Ranch on Route 66
Thirsty for something different on Route 66? Perhaps you’d like a strawberry soda pop or a blueberry soda pop or something with extra caffeine or even - and we didn’t try these - a pickle soda pop. Yes, pickle. And there are several varieties.
In fact Pop’s soda pop stop on Route 66 in Arcadia, Oklahoma is one of the newer attractions along Route 66 having opened in 2007. On the shelves and in the coolers you’ll find about 600-700 different types of sodas from regional specialties to things you might not even have imagined.
For example, there are sodas with ranch flavor, dill pickle, peanut butter, bacon and more. Every fruit flavor you could imagine is on the shelf - raspberry, blueberry, grape and there are a variety of each one so you don’t just get one raspberry soda. There are multiples.
Every time we’ve been there we have to choose a few that we know we’ll love but we also like to challenge ourselves with something. Well. Unusual. What can we say about bacon soda - it’s just unusual but ya’ just gotta try it once.
While you can put gas in your stomach but you can also fill up your car - with gas not soda - and there’s even a cafe on hand with a lot of the things you’d expect in a cafe and a few that you wouldn’t. Oh, and of course a bottomless soda fountain.
Pop’s is one of those places along Route 66 that is one of the new attractions and it makes no bones about being historic but it is iconic. It’s also near the round barn so there’s more than one reason to pop in.
