Celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of Route 66! Think 1950s/60s roadside Americana: neon motel signs, roadside diners, gas pumps, jukeboxes, and the freedom of the open road. Nostalgic and kitschy, but also celebratory—like a giant road trip pit stop where everyone pulls in their trailers for food, fun, and music. Classic road trip rock & roll: Chuck Berry’s “Route 66,” The Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Elvis, Roy Orbison. Doo-wop and diner jukebox vibes: The Platters, The Coasters, Dion & the Belmonts. Mix in some roadhouse bluesand country for variety.
