Greetings!

We’re Tony & Peggy Barthel and we’re working to help you be a StressLess Camper.

What’s the best camp carpet or mat for your RV?

Our favorite carpet or camp mat is the Airgear sand free mat. This two-sided mat has proven itself over years of use, is easy to store, lightweight but durable and easy to clean.

We've traveled thousands of miles with our Medium Orange/Agave mat and it has held up to abuse and still looks great. To maintain this mat, just shake it off before you pack it into the storage bag, hose it down after a particularly dusty trip, and clean off small spills like coffee or an errant salsa splash with an all- purpose cleaner.

  • Crazy easy to keep clean–dirt falls under the mat and it's easy to hose down

  • Defines the patio space–making it feel like an extra room

  • Comfortable to walk on with bare feet

  • Lightweight and durable

  • Easy to fold and slide into the wide-mouth, matching storage bag (included) which you can also wear as a hat and become Captain Safety

  • Does not damage grass beneath it - bonus!

  • The fresh colors make us happy when we step out of the trailer

Recommended Sizes

We recommend the Small 8x11 size for travel trailers and motorhomes ranging from 16 to 23 feet long. The Small is pictured above with a 23 foot trailer.

The Medium 8x14 size works well for travel trailers and motorhomes 23 feet and longer.

The Large 8x20 size is great for the big patio areas of trailers longer than 27 feet, but please keep in mind that it is heavier and requires more storage space.

Now that’s just silly

One day while camping I discovered that I could become Captain Safety by putting the mat’s bag over my head (that might help our YouTube numbers go up!). Goofy.

A few tips

We have also used this between our Rockwood Mini Lite and our Lippert Portable Picnic Gazebo.

Another thing we’ve done is used lag bolts from the hardware store to secure our mat and our gazebo using the electric drill we have with us. The advantage of doing this isn’t just that it’s easier to put in than tent stakes, but much easier to pull out!

Bonus - you can use the bag to become the anonymous camper
