Lucky 13 Father’s day gift ideas for the dad who loves to RV or camp - 2023 edition

What are some great gifts for for father’s day when dad’s an RVer? We have this list of 13 great gifts from affordable to extravagant that you can get dad for father’s day and make him a StressLess Camper.

Affordable Father’s Day RV gifts

It’s amazing how far your dollar can go when getting dad something for the RV. These are very inexpensive items that can actually make RV life a little easier.

Camco RV sewer fitting wrench set - $9.95

This set is another simple but effective tool that can make the tank dumping experience just a little better. Essentially this is two pieces that, when used together, help loosen the fittings on the sewer hose. These give you a bit of leverage that can make the difference and are plastic so they won’t damage your sewer hose.

I’ve had the hose get stuck on the fitting on the RV more than once and these simple, plastic tools are there to help me get it back off. https://amzn.to/45YMmmS

RV Sizzer Nut Locks - $12.95

RV Sizzer nut locks

These are simple, inexpensive locks that you put into the stabilizers on your RV that will keep them from creeping. What they do is hold the bolt in place on the end of the stabilizers so that it can’t back out and allow the stabilizers to lower.

While these are a simple gadget they’re also really useful. Further, there’s a notch in the end to help you adjust the stabilizers slightly. We have these and love them.

Nite Ize Gear Ties - $12.95

The more you use these things the more useful they will become. We’ve used them for everything from fixing the black tank fitting to holding up a lantern to hair ties. They keep your cables organized and are just a great, inexpensive and essential item.

We’re now starting to see these in our local hardware store but we also have a link and a story here: https://www.stresslesscamping.com/blog/gear-ties

Camco Sewer Cleanout plug wrench - $12.95

Okay, so this is a very inexpensive item that you can also use an adjustable wrench to accomplish, but we like this because it’s cheap, it works and it’s specifically for the black tank fun that all RVers face. Especially RVing dads. This simple tool lets you force the cap off the sewer fitting in the ground which always seems to be clogged with sand and dirt. Handy and cheap.

The Dump Buddy - $39.95

This is one of those “I wish I had thought of this” kind of thing. Essentially it’s an easy tool to keep your sewer hose from becoming a black tank volcano by attaching the fitting to an exposed sewer pipe. We love this thing and, now that we have it, use it all the time.

RV essential father’s day gifts

If you’re looking more for something that’s closer to being an RV essential, here are a few mid-priced gifts that might bring a smile to dad’s face.

Infrared thermometer - $21

I use the same infrared thermometer for so, so many things. Since this doesn’t touch the surface it’s measuring, I use it for wheel bearings, tires, brakes, the barbecue, to test the air conditioner and furnace and so much more. I consider an infrared thermometer to be an essential RV gadget and they’re cheap.

Lippert Propane tank sensor - $55

These nifty little discs are another digital gadget that I love. They go on the underside of your RV’s propane tank and measure how much propane is left in the tank. No more guessing or fiddling, you know to within one percent how much propane is left.

GasStop propane safety device - $75

While these aren’t inexpensive, they are critical in my opinion. The GasStop propane safety device keeps leaks at bay on your propane system through clever valves. These are easy to install and can really be life saving.

Gerber multi-tool - $150

I think every guy out there loves multi tools and this one is perfect to keep in the RV. These things aren’t cheap but they’re so very useful and quite well built. We have one of these and they’re so useful. It might get used on every trip, quite frankly.

I particularly like this one because it has drivers for just about every screw type there is in an RV. There is also a useful knife and pliers as well. Rather than having a bunch of tools, this is the one that I use the most in the RV.

Dometic Go hydration jug + power spigot - $169.99

We actually keep the Dometic Go Hydration Jug ($69.99) in the back seat of our truck along with the companion power spigot (which is $99.99).  We fill it with ice water before we head out and then we always have a handy source of cool, refreshing water on the road.

Nobody said you couldn’t put things in it besides water - like margaritas - but probably not inside the truck while you’re driving.

Portable ice maker - $110

It’s amazing how useful these things are. They’ve become pretty popular in the campground and quickly make ice so you always have some on hand.

If you want to do this on the go, you could partner this with the Dometic GO portable hydration jug and now you’ve got water.

Cuisinart Evolution X portable blender - $79.99

You’ve got margarita mix but what about the blender? This little Cuisinart Evolution X portable blender is surprisingly powerful, especially considering how compact it is. I’ve used ours to make smoothies which is a particularly refreshing breakfast on a hot summer day.

But let’s not ignore the fact that this does a great job with margaritas or other blended cocktails as well.

RecTec portable pellet smoker - $599

So you’re wanting to go nuts and buy dad something that’s pretty extravagant. How about a pellet smoker? I got a RecTec 340 specifically because of the company’s reputation for building a good product and also how portable this unit is.

Since I got mine they’ve made it even more portable but Iv’e been really pleased with it. And, yes, I have even used it for boondocking.
