Tucumcari, New Mexico on Route 66 - Blaze-In-Saddle RV park
Review of Blaze-In-Saddle RV park in Tucumcari, New Mexico on Route 66
One of the nicest RV parks we’ve stayed at, at least to me, is Blaze-In-Saddle RV park in Tucumcari, New Mexico. I think we first stayed there because it was convenient and affordable and in the right place. And the name. I personally love the movie with a similar name.
But, since then, we’ve returned multiple times as Blaze-In-Saddle RV park is a great home base for visiting Tucumcari, New Mexico on Route 66.
What are the RV spaces like?
The park is one big flat gravel-covered place with all sites being pull-through sites. There are full hook-ups and 30 and 50 amp connections. There is also water hook-ups but you are cautioned to bring your water pressure regulator with you. This is a must-have gadget anyway so we hope you have one.
In addition to clean sites that are easy to get into, the park also has a central building with showers and toilets as well as laundry. But this also has to be one of the nicest rec rooms I’ve seen in an RV park.
A top-tier rec room
There is a row of comfortable recliners facing a very large TV which is flanked by a cabinet in which games and videos are located. The cabinet is perfectly labeled and there is a table where you can put together a puzzle. And there are puzzles, of course.
Peggy and our friend Merilyn actually completed a puzzle while we were there despite our side visit to Tucumcari to check out all the neon.
There’s also a pool table in the rec room and plenty of tables and chairs if you travel with a group, which we were doing.
When we were visiting the rains had definitely been through the area so we didn’t get a chance to test our luck on the miniature golf course, but there is one and there’s no cost to play it. There are also cornhole boards on hand.
Very pet friendly
To describe the park as pet-friendly would be an understatement because there are horse stalls so you can board your equine travelers but there’s also a dog run for the smaller four-legged creatures that so many RVers travel with.
Whether you’re a fan of the movie whose name is close to that of this RV park or not, the park itself is a nice respite from the road for RVers and campers and a solid place to base your Route 66 adventures, especially if you’re planning to visit Tucumcari, New Mexico on Route 66.
