Tradewinds RV Park on Route 66 near Kingman and Oatman Arizona
Where to stay on Route 66 near Kingman, Arizona
If you’re looking for a clean RV park near Kingman, Arizona along Route 66 we enjoyed the Tradewinds RV Park in Golden Valley, Arizona. Due to some impending weather we extended our stay three times here as we meandered Route 66 but the park is very close to Kingman, Arizona as well as Oatman, Arizona so it’s a great central hub for those destinations.
This is one of the parks that honors the Passport America discounts and we took advantage of that.
The park has 90 sites or so but only about 10 of those are available for transient overnights. However, unlike some parks with a lot of permanent residents, this one is very nicely maintained and doesn’t feel creepy.
There is a very decent laundry facility at the park. The park also participates in the Poo Prints program where permanent residents are required to send a sample of their dog’s droppings to the company and the park sends in any stray stuff and those owners who don’t pick up after their pets are fined. A lot. So you don’t see dog stuff anywhere in the park.
For permanent residents there is a dog park but not for we visitors.
However there are plenty of places to walk a dog and there are all sorts of vintage tractors and other vintage equipment all over the property and it’s fun to stroll around and look at those.
Our transient sites had full hook-ups and nice plastic picnic tables. There were small trees but nothing looming over the sites. We stayed in February of 2026 so the trees that were there hadn’t produced their leaves yet but they weren’t big trees, although that might be an issue when the full force of an Arizona summer kicks into high gear.
