Absolutely. So we saw a post on social media that someone was setting up their camper in a campground, opened the power pedestal, and there was a wasp and it stung them. And they didn't have the Benadryl to make the swelling go down.

Ouch.

So, it's just a reminder to try to have a- like a first aid kit with the basics in it, and keep that in your camper or in your vehicle.

That is a really good tip.

So we are, uh, as- as we've mentioned already, we're moochdocking here with Tony and Teana. They were kind enough to let us use, um, a parking space that is not otherwise being used right now, for reasons we'll talk about later.

Of course, then, that means we're off the grid, right? We- they offered us power, but we really don't need it.

We don't need no stinking power.(laughs)

And even today ... Now, you might not know this is true, because we're all wearing jackets, but this afternoon-

... we were out for a few hours, the camper was closed, and we walked back in the camper, it was 82 degrees. So, we even ran the air conditioner for a while.
Tony Barthel
Yeah, on battery power. In fact, it's such a great system, Tony and Teana are gonna have one pretty soon.
Peggy Barthel
Yep.
Tony Barthel

It was a really good introduction though, and it turns out, you know, besides having the same name and the same birthday, we have a lot in common. We have become really good friends. And plus they have a beautiful driveway to mooch in, and-

... and this, all you can see here is part of their yard, so it's just a ... We've just really loved being able to boondock here and spend some time and get a tour of the town.

That was really fun. But, um, let's start with kind of a basic introduction. You know, I always say I was-... was, conceived camping and, you know-

... we, they know Tony's and my story. What is your backstory?
Tina from TNT RVing
Well, first of all, welcome to Medina.
Peggy Barthel

We're so glad you three could come.
Tony Barthel
Oh, yeah, we're in Medina, Ohio.
Tony from TNT RVing
Yes.
Tony Barthel
And it's our first night ever sleeping in Ohio.

In Ohio.

That's right.

Which, uh, that kinda stuns me.
Tony from TNT RVing
Oh.
Tony Barthel
Yeah.
Tina from TNT RVing
But, yeah. So, and of course, it's August and it's, like, freezing.
Peggy Barthel
Cold, yeah.(laughs) It's so funny.

Yeah.

Yeah. However, I think-

... the weatherman is on vacation or something.

But that's okay in some ways.

Yeah, so actually, I have never wanted to camp or didn't want anything to do with it. I know, can you believe I'm actually saying those words? But, and then Tony, you love camping.
Tony from TNT RVing
I grew up camping. I was a Boy Scout, so we tent camped and-

Yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
... did all sorts of camping with my father.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
Um, but what really piqued my interest is back when I was a youth in Italy. My uncle, Uncle Tony, Zio Toto.
Tony Barthel
Hey.(laughs)
Tina from TNT RVing
My Uncle Tony, he actually had an RV dealership. And-
Tony Barthel
Really?
Tony from TNT RVing
One of the, the, my fondest memories was they had a pop-up camper that he took and brought it out to the beach and had it up, the sides and everything. And I remember going there as a real young kid and having an afternoon nap right on the beach, and it was just absolutely wonderful.
Peggy Barthel
Oh, wow.
Tony from TNT RVing
And I knew ever since then, I really, I had a, a passion to do that. It wasn't really at the, the forefront, but...
Tina from TNT RVing
And then he had to do some serious convincing.
Tony from TNT RVing
Yes.
Tina from TNT RVing
But then once COVID hit, all bets were off. When you couldn't travel-

Oh, no.
Tina from TNT RVing
... and you couldn't do anything else.
Peggy Barthel
Couldn't do anything else.
Tony Barthel
Oh, so you're a COVID camper.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah, oh, yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
So 2019 is when we...

No, 2020 is when we got our RV.
Tony from TNT RVing
When we ordered it.
Tina from TNT RVing
And w- and we-
Tony from TNT RVing
Oh, yeah, you're right.

Um...
Tina from TNT RVing
Of course, I'm right.
Tina from TNT RVing
But, and then, like-
Peggy Barthel
Just don't forget those words.

All it did was take, like, two trips and I'm like, "Okay, yeah, I got, I can do this and I love it." So-
Peggy Barthel
Now, was it-
Tina from TNT RVing
But it's not camping. It's glamping.
Peggy Barthel
Well, it's glamping.
Tony Barthel
Well, right. It's- yeah.
Peggy Barthel
Was it more that you never thought about it? Or more that you were like, "No way, Tony, we're not doing that."
Tina from TNT RVing
A little bit of both.
Peggy Barthel
Okay.
Tina from TNT RVing
It was, well, because I think I had the old mindset of the 1970s camping-
Tina from TNT RVing
... where you were, like, in the old, you know, thick carpet RVs.
Tina from TNT RVing
Where it just, you know, I had no idea what was out there until we started watching YouTube channels. And that's when we got hooked, and it was like, there are a couple of channels out there that really flipped the switch for us.
Tony Barthel
Interesting, interesting.
Tina from TNT RVing
So, yep.
Tony from TNT RVing
And-
Peggy Barthel
And so in 2020, you ordered a Mini Lite.
Tina from TNT RVing
We did.
Peggy Barthel
2205S.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yep.
Tony Barthel
Which is the same one we have.
Tony from TNT RVing
Which is exactly what you have.
Peggy Barthel
That was what we have.
Tina from TNT RVing
Which how we found you guys. Tony was watching you guys and that's how-
Tony from TNT RVing
Right. Right, right.
Peggy Barthel
Learning about 2205Ss. And if you, if you wanna kinda go back in time, last year, when we were all together at the Frog Rally, we compared how we thought storage should work(laughs) in a 2205S because we were just kind of sitting around having a beer and saying, "Well, you know that drawer where you put the towels?" And she said-

No, they don't put towels-
Peggy Barthel
"No, towels go in that other cupboard."
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah, the towels don't go there. They don't go here.(laughs)
Tony Barthel
Interesting, yeah. So it was really interesting how we had the same camper and configured it so differently.
Peggy Barthel
Yes, yeah.
Tina from TNT RVing
Differently.
Tony Barthel
And so that was a fun video that we did last year. But now neither of us have that camper.
Tony from TNT RVing
No.
Peggy Barthel
Now, neither of us have 2205Ss.
Tony from TNT RVing
Oh, cat's out of the bag.

We currently are, yeah, currently are RV-less.

Yeah.

But not for long.

But there is a plan.

There is a plan.
Peggy Barthel
Yes.
Tony Barthel
A man, a plan, a canal, Canada.
Tony Barthel
So once you got convinced, where did you, what type of places did you get to go and see, and what made you go, "Man, this is, this is A-okay with Tina"?
Tina from TNT RVing
Well, because it was, uh, COVID, people weren't even really traveling outside of Ohio. And that's when we got hooked on, um... Can I give a plug?
Tony from TNT RVing
Sure.
Tina from TNT RVing
To, uh, Adventure Bandits because they were a channel that were doing Ohio camping. And so we were watching and I'm like, "I can do that. That's, like, in my backyard."
Peggy Barthel
Right.
Tony Barthel
Yeah.
Tina from TNT RVing
So that's what we did. We went to several of the, uh, Muskegon Watershed campgrounds, which are right down 77.
Peggy Barthel
Mm-hmm.
Tina from TNT RVing
Right down in Atwood Lake, Tappan Lake, and those. And so not too far from us, like two hours away, and it was like... Looked a lot like this. No. Uh, it was-
Tina from TNT RVing
Beautiful.
Peggy Barthel
You might as well have just camped in your yard.(laughs)
Tony from TNT RVing
Yeah.(laughs)
Tina from TNT RVing
But it was nice. You were getting out, you were doing things, you were, you were going out and meeting new people and doing things.
Peggy Barthel
Right.
Tony from TNT RVing
But we should back up and tell them how we actually got involved with the trailer that we picked.
Tony Barthel
Yeah. Oh, yeah, that'd be good.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah, we have, yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
And how that developed. But we're fortunate, just south of us at the time was Avalon RV Center. And a good friend of ours was friends of the owner. So we went in and saw Scott, and he was sure to point us in the right direction, uh, because I said, "Scott, what would you get?"

"What would you get?"
Tony Barthel
Oh, good answer.
Peggy Barthel
Ah.
Tony from TNT RVing
As an owner.
Tony Barthel
That's a good way to-
Tina from TNT RVing
And turned right to the Rockwoods.
Tony from TNT RVing
Yep. And he said, you know, "Really, they, they build an outstanding product." So then, of course, I'm like, "All right. I'll investigate the Rockwoods," and with all the research I did, absolutely hands down, we, we liked how they were constructed and everything, and we felt really comfortable with it. But the funny thing is they didn't have-

What we wanted.(laughs)
Tony from TNT RVing
... a 2205S on property for us to look at.
Tina from TNT RVing
So we bought it sight unseen.
Tony from TNT RVing
They actually had a 2109.
Tony Barthel
Which is-
Peggy Barthel
Oh, very similar.
Tony Barthel
... uh, it's similar, but a little bit smaller.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
A little bit smaller. So we, of course, looked at the specs and we're like, "Okay, that 2205 is a, it's gonna be a little bit taller. Okay, we can handle that."
Tina from TNT RVing
Little bit higher.
Tony from TNT RVing
Little bit...... you know, longer.
Peggy Barthel
Longer.
Tony from TNT RVing
We should be all right. And then, um, we went ahead and just bit the bullet, ordered everything up.
Tony Barthel
That's amazing for me because, uh, y- Tony is very, uh, detail-oriented, and, and I could see you, like-
Tony Barthel
... losing sleep at night.
Peggy Barthel
Oh, yeah.(laughs)
Tony Barthel
Like, "What did I do?" Right?"
Peggy Barthel
Oh, yeah.

Exactly.
Peggy Barthel
Tony takes the false panels out of the-

Yeah.
Peggy Barthel
... under the sinks-
Tony Barthel
I was gonna say that.(laughs)
Peggy Barthel
... to look at the plumbing before he makes a decision.(laughs)
Tony Barthel
We were looking at some RVs, to remain nameless, Rockwood.
Tony Barthel
And there's Tony, like, he had taken... You know, behind there is these little false panels. And he's looking at, "Okay, how is this plumbed? How is this wired? What are the connectors?" And I was so impressed-
Tony Barthel
... that, that, I mean, I think I even have a picture. I'll have to look it up.
Peggy Barthel
We, we went in with cameras ready to film. Tony went in with a screwdriver, laying on the floor-

Yeah.
Peggy Barthel
... taking things apart.(laughs)
Tony Barthel
Yeah. Up on the roof-
Tony Barthel
... underneath. I mean, and, I mean, truthfully, that's the way you should shop for a camper, right?
Peggy Barthel
Right.
Tony from TNT RVing
Absolutely.
Tony Barthel
So I, I'm not... That's by no means a fault. I'm, I was impressed.
Tony Barthel
I'm like, "Hey, that's..."
Tina from TNT RVing
Well, what's interesting about the 20- 2109, we really thought that was what we wanted. We were, went in and, but then we started looking and we're like, "We want that theater seating," and that didn't come in the 2109.
Tony from TNT RVing
Mm-hmm.
Tina from TNT RVing
And then we started looking at all the forums. And the forums were s- everybody was trading their 2109 in for the 2205.

2205.
Peggy Barthel
Oh.
Tony from TNT RVing
At the time.
Tina from TNT RVing
They were like, "We just wanna..." At the time, they were, "We just wanted a little bit bigger-
Peggy Barthel
A tiny bit more.
Tina from TNT RVing
... and a little bit more storage."
Peggy Barthel
We actually wanted the 2109, but we had, um, one of the first Rockwood, uh, uh, power packages from ABC Upfitters.
Tina from TNT RVing
Upfitters.
Peggy Barthel
And it, they wouldn't... The 2109 doesn't have the drop frame in the front for the pass through, and they said there's not room in the 2109 to put the system.
Tony from TNT RVing
Oh.
Tony Barthel
So that's why you got 2108.
Tina from TNT RVing
So they kind of, they kind of insisted that we go up to the 2205.
Tony Barthel
We had the beta test version.
Peggy Barthel
We did, yeah.
Tony Barthel
So we were like, we were literally the first people to have it. And we had it for a whole three months. It was-

Three whole months.(laughs)
Tony Barthel
And then-
Peggy Barthel
Yeah.

... somebody missed a big white box on the road, but anyway. So now, uh, obviously, we see you at rallies.
Peggy Barthel
Mm-hmm.
Tony Barthel
And you guys do a lot of sporting events too.
Tony from TNT RVing
Yes, we do.
Tony Barthel
Do you take the camper to those, or?
Tony from TNT RVing
We do. One of my hobbies, I love to shoot sporting clays, so clay pigeons, and we travel to do that. And that was one of the reasons we-

Wanted an RV.
Tony from TNT RVing
... wanted an RV as well.
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
And, um, what our setup at the time, with Belle, we could actually spend a whole week out in a cornfield and we'd be there.
Peggy Barthel
Mm-hmm.
Tina from TNT RVing
And we did.
Tony from TNT RVing
We were set.
Tina from TNT RVing
We actually did that.(laughs)
Tony from TNT RVing
Yeah. So-
Tina from TNT RVing
Yeah.
Tony from TNT RVing
... as long as Tina's happy, I'm happy.

Yeah, as long as it's funny how it works.

Yeah. As long as I have a shower, can make coffee, and have air conditioning, I'm good.

Right.

You're good to go, okay.

Yeah, I, I understand that.

Yeah.

Well, with the manufacturer, Irwin, um, Blind Company, uh, that was a Google search, and I called around because-

He just calls people.

... nowhere on the blind did it tell you.

Yeah, it doesn't have the brand.
Peggy Barthel
Mm-hmm.
Tina from TNT RVing
No.
Tony from TNT RVing
No. So I called around. I figured, well, Indiana, let's see what companies are out there.
Tony Barthel
Yeah, that's true.(laughs)
Tony from TNT RVing
Probably Elkhart. And actually-
Peggy Barthel
And then just said, "Do you make blinds-
Tina from TNT RVing
Do you make blinds for Rockwoods?(laughs)
Tony from TNT RVing
It was, it was really a, a fortunate thing. I reached out to them, and they're like, "Yeah." And I was telling them the issue that I had, and they're like, "Oh, it sounds like the spring assembly is, is faulty." And they sent me out another one. So I was able to, to take it apart-

That's awesome.

... and, uh, share with you all-

Yeah.

... how, how we repair it. And that mostly-
Tina from TNT RVing
That's how you do with everything.

Everything we do I, I actually promote as how we would do it, so you know.

Yeah, not, not necessarily the right way.

And these are real, actual set pieces, real, actual department store displays. I never knew this, I never really thought about it, but apparently on January 2, all those department stores in New York just trash all that. Like, literally trash all those things they worked three months to build-

... for the displays. And so, Mark found out about that, and so on January 1-

... Fifth Wheel. It's a new, bigger size Rockwood fifth wheel, so they're, they're moving up.

Yeah. Rockwood actually, um, put on an addition to their factory to build these 40-foot fifth wheels is what I found out. Yeah, revamped that.

Yeah. This thing was, it was beautiful. I was so impressed. It, it's a front living. The particular one we looked at is a front living. Um, it has, you know, as usual, it's got the two couches on the-

... above the nose, and slides. Then there's a theater couch against the front wall that looks out, and there's a televator and a fireplace, but the kitchen in this thing-

... oh, it was, it was beautiful, with big full-sized appliances, a big, uh, fridge. I liked the drawers, the way that you could catch-

They're so clo- close.

Well, not only that, but there's the one drawer that pulled out, and it had a cutting board.

Oh, yeah. Yes.

And it, you could ... And then there was a garbage can right under, and you could cut, you know, like let's say you're peeling veggies or whatever, right into the garbage can. Works so well.

So you can take that out. Yeah, it's nice.

And there was silverware drawer. The drawers were impressive. Then at the bulk head end of the kitchen, like where the fifth wheel goes down, there's this like whole chest of drawers thing with a countertop, and the only thing I thought was missing was a Margaritaville frozen concoction.

I thought it was perfect for a coffee bar.

It actually had room for both.

About gas between the windows. But another thing this has, I always criticize RVs with simple leaf spring suspensions, and this has a new what's called a slipper roller suspension. So the shocks from the road, you know, the vibration, uh, is kinda shoved out the back rather than up and to the trailer, which helps the trailer last longer, which is a good thing. So many fifth wheels have these really low-end suspensions, and this didn't.

And last year, we all went to the airport-

... and rode around in different fifth wheels-

Balanced speeds in the tires, Goodyear Endurance, tire pressure monitoring. The only thing I saw was in the bedroom is the fuse box, and I've seen in some fifth wheels where when you bring the slide in, you can't get to the fuse box. So I brought the slide in and I could get to the fuse box. It's there in the bedroom, but it d- it's not a problem.

You understand the problem with that, right? You- if the- if the fuse box is hidden in the bedroom and the slide won't go out and you can't get to the fuse box to change the fuse to make the slide go out, you can't get to the fuse box-

... 'cause the slide won't go out.(laughs)

Yeah. It ain't good.

Oh. That's a touchy.

And there are some manufacturers that think that's okay.
