Automated transcript of StressLess Camping RV podcast episode 326
Peggy
This week on the Stress Less Camping RV podcast, we introduce you to our cool new friend, the fury on chill Cube.
Tony
Yeah, I've been wanting one of these for well over a year since I first found out about them, and we finally got one.
Peggy
Do we love it?
Tony
That's what we're here to find out.
Peggy
Then we're going to share some gadgets that we saw at the Hershey RV show.
Tony
Yep, we have this week's cast along with the stories that go with this episode, plus discounts, deals, helpful tips and more at our home on the web.
Peggy
At stresslesscamping.com We really appreciate your likes and your shares. Thank you for joining us. This is episode 326, Stressless Camping. Good camping.
Tony
I'm Tony.
Peggy
I'm Peggy.
Tony
We're two RV industry veterans who travel part time.
Peggy
And I'm at Rockwood Mini Lite.
Tony
Looking to share big adventures and help you with great tips, tricks and discounts.
Peggy
So we're not in our mini light right now. You might have noticed.
Tony
Yeah.
Peggy
Not because the air conditioner is too loud, as we're going to discuss later.
Tony
No.
Peggy
But because it's raining and rain on the roof of an RV does not make for good recordings.
Tony
It's like you're in a popcorn machine.
Peggy
So we really want to thank Lippert for allowing us to come here and record so that we'd have not a popcorn machine going off in the background.
Tony
Yeah, and we could see all the stuff that we now want to get, which is going to be an expensive trip. But anyway, one of the interesting things about our adventure into Pennsylvania was we would do posts and people go, hey, we live half an hour from there.
Tony
We live an hour from there.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
How come you didn't say? Because a lot of times what we do is say where we were rather than where we're going or where we are. So we decided we're gonna change that.
Peggy
Right. So what we're gonna do, what we've started to do already, is make another calendar on our website that pretty much has all of our camping reservations on it. Yeah. It's gonna let people know where, you know, what area we're going to be. Now, this is not gonna be a public facing page.
Peggy
This is going to be only accessible to people who subscribe to our newsletter. So if you don't already subscribe, this is the time to finally make that decision and go to our website and subscribe for our weekly newsletter. And we will tell you how to access this calendar that lets you know what town we're going to be in on any given day.
Tony
Yeah, if you care.
Peggy
If there's nothing on the calendar, it probably means we're at home or we just don't want you to know for whatever reason.
Tony
Ooh, secret plans.
Peggy
Secret. But yeah, we, you know, a lot of times we just have left or we're just leaving. Melinda this last week said, oh, where are you? And we said, We just left an hour ago.
Peggy
You know, unfortunately, and we did catch up with Oren, which was great.
Tony
Yeah, that was cool.
Peggy
And he was willing to drive half an hour to meet closer to where we were going to be. But we just, we want to meet all of you, and so we want to be a little more proactive. Proactive about letting you know where we're going to be so you can reach out.
Peggy
We don't know where all of you are. We can't write to Bob and then Sharon and then Mary and say, hey, we're coming to your town. We can barely get that one newsletter a week figured out, so. This way, if you are interested in meeting up with us, you will be able to find out where we are and then if we are near you, we can try to figure something out to hang out.
Tony
Yeah, yeah.
Tony
And usually we're near a brewery, so.
Peggy
Yeah, almost always. And as long as you're on the website anyway, you might as well go check out our favorite products and services for the products and services that we love and a lot of those products and services have discounts, so it's worth it to you to go check them out. If there's something that you might be ready to purchase or ready to sign up for, you might find a discount if you visit our website.
Tony
Yeah, I know that, by the way, I think Peggy said products and services like 11.
Peggy
I did.
Tony
But know that we only put stuff that we use and like. We don't just put stuff because there's a some commission for us. That's not how we roll.
Peggy
Furyon ChillCube. What is that?
Tony
Okay, well we often get asked how long we can run the AC in our RV. And it's commonly known that running an RV air conditioner on battery power is a little bit of a fantasy.
Peggy
According to some people, it's absolutely positively impossible and never will be.
Tony
Nope. We learned about the Fury on Chill Cube a while ago and we're finally able to work with Lippert to install one on our own travel trailer. At the heart of this system, and by the way, there is this... This is the system. This is it.
Tony
At the heart of the system and what makes it so different is a variable speed compressor. Essentially, most RV units have a single speed compressor and it turns on and turns off to adapt to temperature change. So if you set your thermostat at 72, the compressor comes on and runs until the thermostat realizes it's at 72. So it's on off on off. That's it.
Peggy
Right. And the colder that you want the air, the longer it's going to run. It's not going to run colder. It's just going to run longer, right?
Tony
Exactly.
Peggy
It's always going to be at the same speed. It's just going to determine how long it's going to run until it gets to the temperature you want. Those also kind of go on and off. To that running or not running with a big chunk. Yeah, it's a kind of vibrates the RV.
Tony
It's an annoying clunk, right? And it also takes a lot of power to basically kick that compressor into gear. So the ChillCube's compressor can run at variable speeds. And what that means is that it slowly can ramp up and then provide the amount of cooling power that you need to accomplish a task. So it absolutely can go full bore and cool the RV very quickly.
Tony
In fact, it's rated for 18,000 BTUs.
Peggy
Which is more than most RV air conditioners, right? Sometimes they're 13-5 and sometimes they're 15.
Tony
Right.
Peggy
And this is 18.
Tony
Yes, exactly. So it can go full board, cool the RV very quickly, but it never really shuts off. So the temperature stays where you set it rather than on off, on off, cold hot, cold hot. So the way you feel it is very different.
Peggy
So just to make sure I understand, the air conditioner we're all used to goes on, goes off.
Peggy
This air conditioner actually goes on high, goes on low. Yeah, so it will use the amount of power it needs to keep the temperature cold. Now, if you're accustomed to RV furnaces and RV air conditioners, you know, if you set it at 72, whichever it is, it's going to run, run, run, run, run until it's two degrees over, and then it's going to stop until it's two degrees less than what you wanted, and it's going to go back on. And so it's never exactly where you want it to be.
Tony
Right, exactly.
Tony
Instead, the ChillCube's compressor runs at a variable speed. So once it's done the job of cooling your RV, it can ramp down and run much more efficiently. And that means it just keeps the RV cool. And it's always, you always hear air moving and that's all you hear basically is air moving. Sometimes when it really ramps up you hear it if you're paying attention, but it's not loud.
Tony
It's not this big awful clunk.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
So because it's a variable speed compressor, it doesn't need a soft start. So let's say you wanted to get an air conditioner and run it on a on a generator, you might want a soft start. Well, you don't need that with this because starting the compressor only takes about five amps of power.
Tony
So even your small generator can run it. And because it doesn't shut off and turn on over and over, it doesn't let your RV get hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold.
Peggy
Yeah. So this is kind of the way a mini split works, right? If you have a mini split in your house, you know that it kind of.
Peggy
Is sort of always running a little bit and it's just a way way more efficient way to condition the air than these old-fashioned RV air conditioners.
Tony
Yeah, if you look at, so we used our Hughes Power Watchdog to measure how much power we used over a 24-hour period of time and it was much less than our other air conditioner going on off, on off, on off. This was over time, it's just because it's not heating up and cooling down, it's just maintaining. It really, it works really well. So do know that the ChillCube is available in two models right now.
Tony
There's a version for non-ducted installations and that thing is incredibly efficient and quiet. And it's a night and day improvement over any other non-ducted air conditioner I've seen for RVs.
Peggy
So non-ducted, if you have a really small RV, or maybe you have a second, yeah, that's what I meant to say. Or maybe you have a second air conditioner in the bedroom of your RV. And it just, it's like called direct dump, right?
Peggy
Right. It just comes, the air comes right out of the machine into the room. Whereas ducted, the air, the cold air goes into ducts, and then there's little vents usually all over the ceiling. That are that's the ducted version.
Tony
Yeah so those are the two.
Tony
Do know Furion also sells the chill which is not the chill cube. So you notice this is fairly short and square and the typical air conditioner is longer and it's just built differently so the chill cube is what you're after.
Peggy
But know also that it's a little bit taller. Yeah. And so if your measurement is already on a label on your dashboard of how tall you are and you change to a Chill Cube, you're gonna want to add a few inches to that.
Tony
Well, and that also could be important. Let's say you want to put the Chill Cube in the bedroom of a fifth wheel and you might be at the max height and you can't go any taller. Well, sorry, Charlie. People ask how easy is this to install and you might see some people on the internet say oh it was really tough. It's not.
Tony
So almost all modern RVs have holes in their roof that are 14 and a quarter by 14 and a quarter and they generally have 120 volt AC power run right to that hole so that's where air conditioners are designed to fit. It's a pretty common standard.
Peggy
Now they also that same 14 and a quarter by 14 and a quarter hole is what's for your vents. So whether, no matter what size fan is in that vent, if it's a little tiny fan or a big fan, it's in the same hole. So if you have a place right now that you have a vent and you want an air conditioner, it's still going to be a really easy swap.
Peggy
Yeah. Assuming, assuming the power is there.
Tony
Assuming the power is there.
Peggy
Right.
Tony
And do know this is 120 volt air conditioner.
Peggy
Right.
Tony
Because that's the standard. Right. So swapping the existing air air conditioner out for us was really easy. Truthfully, it was done by an so.
Peggy
It was really easy for us.
Tony
Right. We just watched. But the, the most challenging part was getting the new unit up on the roof. But they had forklifts and stuff for that, so that was easy.
Peggy
Now, Bill, Bill, when he did his, he did his on his own, and he just went to rent at a cherry picker so he could have.
Tony
Well, yeah, he rented, like, a lift, a cranky up lift.
Peggy
Yeah. Oh, it's not, not really a. Well, I don't know, whatever it's called.
Peggy
But anyway.
Tony
But then, and our friend Brian put one in and he just. Carried it up a lab.
Tony
So for us, the challenge was the furnace or the heater.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
Because the way our RV was wired, the heater control went through the thermostat, which was controlled by the air conditioner, which is a little bit weird, but it worked out pretty well. The Chill Cube comes with a remote control. And so it doesn't really have an external thermostat.
Tony
You can get one, but it comes with this remote control. And so what we just had to do was figure out which wires ran the furnace and again on off on off is all that our furnace did and put an old-fashioned thermostat. So that was no big deal and now we have this wireless remote and that's what controls the chill cube. You can also use, there's a surface on the chill cube that you can run the whole thing. So if you, let's say you lose the remote control or your dog eats it, it's okay.
Tony
You can still run the thing. Of course you could also buy a replacement, but...
Peggy
But in the meantime...
Tony
But right, but you can use the control surface instead and there are wall thermostats you can buy we didn't do this.
Peggy
So for most people swapping out your existing air conditioner on your RV for a Chill Cube will be a super easy process.
Peggy
You know, like we said, a lot of our friends have done it.
Tony
Yeah, absolutely.
Peggy
Okay, so I think we kind of already said it, but how do you operate the Chill Cube? You turn it on and set the temperature.
Tony
Yeah, and you can do that with the remote or with the control surface on the unit.
Peggy
Right.
Tony
So basically from there the unit automatically handles the fan and compressor speeds and all of that. So, you know, there's no miracle science to that. What I found is that initially it kicks on and it takes about five to up to 15 amps to cool the trailer down. So if it's really grinding, it's about 15 amps.
Tony
But then what happens is it kind of settles and it I've seen it draw as few as two amps. So it just kind of settles down and the fan slows down and it just stays running at that low speed. It's very efficient and quiet at that point.
Peggy
It's also very smart because we have noticed that when I say we, but what I really mean is Tony gets up earlier than me in the morning and goes to make coffee. He turns on the stove top.
Peggy
And we can hear the fan kick, the air conditioner kick up a little, like it knows it warmed up just from turning on the flame of a stovetop.
Tony
Yeah, it's pretty smart. So we've talked about how quiet it is, and one of the complaints about typical RV air conditioners is that it sounds like a freight train's coming through your RV. I understand. What we took out was a Coleman Mach Q 15,000 BTU air conditioner, and really it wasn't that noisy.
Tony
I don't. Noise wasn't really the issue.
Peggy
It was more the quality of the noise. Yeah. It was like the Coleman was like an irritate, like a high, higher pitch or something.
Peggy
Yeah, it was more of a whining motor, whereas the Chill Cube is more of a blowing air.
Tony
Yeah, exactly.
Peggy
So it's not necessarily quieter. It's just a really less irritating. Sound?
Tony
Well, and we, I took some, I have some app that I got free that measures decibels and it's, they're both about 54 units when they're both running. The difference is, again, you don't hear that clunk of the compressor coming on and off. Yeah. So it measured to be about 54 decibels for both. But as Peggy said, it's a more, it's a less unpleasant sound.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
So, yeah. It's kind of like just a fan sound.
Peggy
It's also kind of good white noise because you don't hear it change. Like Tony said before, if you're paying attention, you can hear when the compressor ramps up or, you know, well, maybe not so much ramps down, but you can hear when it decides it needs to work a little harder.
Peggy
But we leave, especially now we've been leaving it on overnight because of the heat and humidity. And so it's just a constant A constant sound.
Tony
Yeah, like even if it's blowing air.
Peggy
Even if it's not quiet, it's constant and it's not so jarring. You know, like if you leave your furnace on in the wintertime, you don't hear anything for a while and then all of a sudden, whoo!
Peggy
Yeah. And we don't have that weirdness. So it's a lot better kind of as a white noise machine overnight.
Tony
Okay, I'll buy that for a dollar.
Peggy
Okay, so.
Peggy
Why did we get a chill kit?
Tony
Why have a perfectly working air conditioner and replace it with a perfectly working air conditioner?
Peggy
Right.
Tony
So then we're nuts.
Peggy
Right.
Peggy
For one thing, we knew and read and Tony has written an article about how much more efficient this is. And when you are trying to be off the grid as much as possible and you have plenty of battery and plenty of solar to run it, why not have something that's really efficient that you can run the air conditioner even when you're boondocking?
Tony
Yeah, so I just like how quietly it ramps up and ramps down and works well with battery power. It does bite into the battery a little bit when it first comes on, but once it's achieved the temperature it needs, it's remarkably efficient. We have 1200 watts of solar on the roof of our RV, and when the ChillCube is just maintaining we can actually bring in more power from the sun than the ChillCube is consuming.
Peggy
Yes.
Tony
Which is incredible.
Peggy
So another reason that we really like it is because we can run it off of our battery, we can turn the air conditioner on an hour before or half an hour before we get to camp on a hot day, and by the time we get there, everything is cool inside. So even if it's hot to get out and unhook the truck, you just go inside and cool down right away. Yeah.
Peggy
And so that's been really nice. And if we remember, we can take that remote control into the truck so that we don't even have to really. We can open the door and point it at the air conditioner and turn it on without even going inside or pulling the steps down or anything like that. Just turn it on, get back in the truck and finish driving our route.
Tony
As you may know, ABC Upfitters installed a DC to DC charger, which basically uses our truck's alternator to provide the equivalent of 50 amps of DC power to the battery.
Tony
When we do that, we use less power than we consume less power than we generate that way. So again, very efficient.
Peggy
How do you know it's efficient?
Tony
Well, we have the Hughes Power Watchdog, as you may know, and we see what power we're driving. So typically on startup, the ChillCube drops seven drops.
Tony
Typically on startup, the ChillCube draws about seven amps of power, but it can go up to 15 depending on how hard it has to work to cool the RV down, which compares to about 14 amps for the previous unit. But remember, the previous unit was going 14 amps. Off 14 amps off.
Peggy
Right.
Tony
When it had to go, it had to go as it were.
Tony
I don't like drinking too much coffee and. And then having to go outside rest up anyway.
Peggy
So we have pretty much determined that this air conditioner is so efficient that it probably uses less energy overall than our Starlink.
Tony
Isn't that crazy?
Peggy
Which is an energy hog, admitted.
Tony
Yeah, we have the Gen 2, and it's. It's a bit of a piggy piggy, but it's weird to think that.
Peggy
The air conditioner uses less than a router.
Tony
And the refrigerator we have now isn't as power hungry as older models, but it's still about equal to the Chill Cube. So we have an article about how efficient our refrigerator is too.
Tony
So in other words, it's a totally different picture of energy usage compared to your typical RV air conditioner. And yes, you can run it on battery power, obviously, depending on how much battery you have, ABC Upfitters install and in, but you you can legitimately run two of these on a 30 amp circuit. It's that efficient. And there are now RVs where they come with three units, three of these chill cubes on the roof.
Peggy
Is that a 50 amp circuit?
Tony
That's a 50 amp. But still, that's pretty impressive.
Peggy
Yeah, yeah. Okay, all right. So it's an air conditioner.
Peggy
It's very efficient. I like multi-functional things. Does this do something else?
Tony
Well, you know it does.
Peggy
Yeah, I know it does.
Tony
So one of the things is, like for overnight, you can limit the use to 75% or even 50% power consumption, which is really good. Like let's say you are running on battery power, you can drop the consumption rate. You can't say it, but you can do it to as little as 50%, which is great.
Peggy
You can also turn it on just fan.
Tony
Yeah, right.
Tony
Yeah, yeah.
Peggy
It can be a fan only. So if you just want some, the air is fine, but you want it to move around a little bit. And what we've been using a heck of of a lot right now. There's a dry mode and it just acts as a dehumidifier.
Peggy
So for those of you who have regular RV air conditioners and you have to have some kind of a countertop dehumidifier, this will take the place of both of those and save up some of your countertop space so you can get a new air fryer or something. I don't know.
Tony
Okay. So another interesting feature is a follow me where the remote control itself actually is the thermostat. And let's say you have the ChillCube in your living room and you go in your bedroom, it'll try to maintain temperature where the remote is.
Tony
Do know it's an infrared remote, so if you shut the door on your bedroom, it ain't gonna work.
Peggy
If they can't see each other, they can't work.
Tony
They have to be able to see each other.
Peggy
They're like Deaf people that have to read each other's lips. Exactly.
Tony
Hey, read my lips. That is a cool feature. To carry this around and have it follow. Another cool thing, let's say you have the ChillCube in your bedroom, it has a display on it that shows the temperature and the mode and all that.
Peggy
And that's how you can work it that way if you don't know where you put your remote or something.
Tony
Yeah, but you can just shut the display off, which is so cool. And it's such a common sense feature, but not everybody's doing this kind of stuff. I mean, again, this thing is game changing.
Peggy
LEDs are everywhere in the RV, right? Like you've got the little green lights on everything and the blue light on the microwave.
Peggy
And we're fortunate enough now we have a bedroom separate from the room where the microwave is. And so we don't have as much worry about the lights. But then, of course, we. It's because we closed the door so the remotes don't work. That's okay, too.
Peggy
But if you have trouble going to sleep like I do when there's any light in the room, then turning those lights off is a huge. Feature. Yeah.
Tony
Another thing I like is the auto on. So let's say like you're like us and you're like okay today I'm going to be driving five hours which really means seven hours.
Tony
You can tell it turn itself on in whatever amount of time. So you can set like if it's off or you see you're going out hiking you're like I don't want to run that thing all day long. You can have it off and then have it automatically turn itself on after a specific time, which is pretty kind of cool.
Peggy
If you're going for a drive and you know you're going to be gone for five hours. Now, if we were going for a hike and we assumed we were going to be gone for five hours, we'd probably be back in one and it wouldn't have worked.
Tony
Yeah, we were gonna go for a hike. I'm not sure what the heck.
Peggy
We'd probably just leave it on. We're only gonna be 10 minutes.
Tony
But let's say that's pretty cool.
Tony
Let's say you are like us and you have a solar system. And you don't want this thing running when no one's in the RV.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
You can have it turn on after a specific amount of time. So that's pretty cool.
Peggy
Any final thoughts you might have?
Tony
If you have an older RV air conditioner, especially if it's noisy, this would be a game-changing replacement. Even if you don't care about power consumption, this AC is very quiet and the way it works is really pleasant. If you have two AC units or a hole for a second AC, you could run both of them on a 30 amp circuit. Or if the AC is running, you can still run your microwave or your electric water heater on electric.
Tony
So again, having it consume less power is a big deal.
Peggy
Right. You could even probably get away with like a 2000 watt generator, right?
Tony
Absolutely. Yeah.
Peggy
Which, you know, what we're accustomed to is you got to have like 4000 watts or whatever, particularly for that initial ramp up.
Tony
Also, the unit is smaller than other units in terms of its footprint, but it's, it is taller, but it's smaller enough on our rig. We're thinking of adding another solar panel zone. And the last thing, if you do decide you want one of these, be careful shopping. As I said, there's the furion chill, normal RV air conditioner, and the chill Cube.
Tony
So if you want the more efficient unit, the chill Cube is the one to ask for. They seem to be readily available. And I have to say, this is it totally changes the game in RV air conditioning. And I haven't seen anything else that even really comes close.
Peggy
Well, that is our take on the Furion Chill Cube RV air conditioner.
Peggy
We hope that this helped you and we hope that you upgrade, because why wouldn't you? Yeah.
Tony
So now that you know about the Furion Chill Cube, and we've mentioned multiple times that we use it with the battery system that we bought from ABC Outfitters. Perhaps you're like, well, I do want to go off-grid camping, but not being able to run the air conditioner has been a barrier. And now you might be thinking, well, where do I go for a great solar and lithium system?
Tony
You probably already know if you've been listening to us for any period of time.
Peggy
We're gonna say, Right. But we're going to recommend ABC Upfitters here in Elkhart, Nevada. Here in Elkhart, Indiana. They did not move.
Peggy
And they can hook you up for off-gridding with your air conditioner or for overnighting at Cracker Barrel. Whatever need that you have for a battery that's going to last as long as you need it to last. They will design that system for you so that you can do what you want to do. And also in what you want to do it. If you have a van or a motorhome or a travel trailer or a fifth wheel, they can build the biggest systems in the smallest places.
Peggy
It's pretty amazing.
Tony
They will listen to how you want to use your RV. And it doesn't necessarily have to be the biggest system. It be something smaller that you can build on later if you choose to, or just use as is. So that's one of the unusual things.
Tony
They really do listen to how you want to use these. So if you just want something good that I can turn my refrigerator on the night before, whatever, there's no one answer. And that's one of the neat things about them. So if that's the way you roll or would like to roll, you can give our friends at ABC Upfitters a ring at 574.
Peggy
333-332-25.
Peggy
That's 574-333-3225 or use the QR code here to read more about it.
Tony
Absolutely.
Tony
Okay, so we have a few videos that we're going to share with you that we shot at the Hershey RV Show of some pretty great gadgets.
Peggy
We talked about some gadgets last week and I think this is a different subset but these are the ones we actually got videos of. Yeah.
Tony
Well, you've seen one of, you've seen bits of one of these, and so now we're gonna do the whole thing. So, anyway, without any further blabbing on, here's some gadgets.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
You never know who you're gonna meet at these shows.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
Security is so lax at these. It really is.
Tony
Anybody can get in. And, and the proof of that is here I am. But I am here with the world famous Mike Sokol, and he goes, Do you know much about SmartPlug? And I said, I have heard of SmartPlug. And SmartPlug has a new angled, but not right angle, power connector.
Tony
And we're here with Ron Bailey from SmartPlug. So tell us a little about why would I want to change my power plug?
Speaker 3
SmartPlug is all about reducing fire risk and the hazards that exist from these twist-lock connectors that were invented in 1938. And these are a problematic component in the RV industry. Eventually we get what we call thermal events from overheating, corrosion, and a lack of maintenance on these items.
Speaker 3
So we've just introduced at this show our new angled connector. So this feeds in very similar to the straight connector SmartPlug's been making for 15 years. Straight in, self-locking levers on each side, and then there's an additional locking feature for this lid. So we've got four different locking structures to hold this pinned clip system together. It's IP56 waterproof, so you can hose down your coach without worrying about water intrusion.
Speaker 3
And it's easy as disconnecting it by lifting the lid and pulling it straight out.
Tony
Very cool.
Speaker 3
Very easy to disconnect and connect.
Tony
You would replace the plug on the side of your camper.
Speaker 3
Yes, sir.
Speaker 3
We call it an inlet. So the inlet is replaced with the smart plug unique.
Tony
You can replace the plug with the cord you have or they have their own cords but there's the kit.
Speaker 3
This is a replaceable end connector or we sell cord sets that are over molded. We're currently selling 40 RV manufacturers smart one products so the builders want to improve cord sets with the new coaches.
Tony
And that's like Airstream, Airstream Coachmen, I know a few. Tiffin.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
Yeah. So good thing. So smart. It's.
Tony
It's a. It's a good thing. You think so?
Speaker 3
And we think it's the best of the industry.
Tony
And it's been Mike's circle tested.
Tony
I mean, I've tested the living daylights out of this stuff. There's the endorsement. All there. Thank you. Great meeting you.
Tony
Thank you. This is the hidden holder. And it's a toilet paper holder so you could put it in a cabinet door. Hiddenholder.com you can stain this to any color to match or there's a just a black plastic one. It's a great invention and it solves the over-under toilet paper problem and get one you'll be flushed with excitement.
Tony
This is Henry the Inventor. Okay we found the ultimate Tony accessory. And we have. Oh, Anthony. Also Tony, of course, also with the.
Tony
With the right haircut. And you're looking. You're like, no, that's a. That's just a. A ice chest, right?
Tony
But wait, there's more. There's more. So you get the cap out of the way. Oh, oh.
Speaker 4
Hiding inside is an entire draft system.
Speaker 4
It requires no tools. Everything's quick connects.
Tony
That is just.
Speaker 4
You got your CO2 system that pressurizes the kegs, and the kegs can be filled with any beverage. Custom ice packs keep it cold. So if a picnic cooler can go, so can the bar. Bring the bar with you.
Tony
Oh, my gosh, that's fantastic. And what does something like this cost?
Speaker 4
So this is 1200 on our website. And here at the show, we're doing 300 off. So 900.
Speaker 4
It's nine free shipping to your door.
Tony
This is, it's hard to probably tell in on video, but this is beautifully engineered.
Speaker 4
All 304 stainless steel, so nothing is chrome plated, you know, steel that's going to peel and rust. Yeah, we were very demanding on the specifications.
Tony
Wow, that's super cool.
Speaker 4
One cartridge will empty two kegs. So every time you use it, you need one of these and something to drink.
Peggy
Last week's question of the week, we asked you if you had made an RV purchase at an RV show.
Tony
Some of you have some great stories.
Peggy
Thank you for sharing your stories, good and bad.
Peggy
I think it's, you know, I don't think that kind of a question can possibly have a 99% same story.
Tony
Oh no, but there are some good stories there. If you'd like to read those stories, you can go to our Fun and Friendly Stressless Campers Facebook group.
Peggy
Yes.
Tony
It's one of the only good things about Facebook.
Tony
Okay, I'm just kidding. We all need to see what we ate for lunch this week.
Peggy
Right.
Tony
But seriously, it's a great and friendly group. And so you can go and you can weigh in with your own story.
Tony
And speaking of which...
Peggy
So this week we would like to know, what say you, slide in an RV or no slide in an RV?
Tony
Yeah, we are here in Elkhart at the RV dealers open house looking at a ton of new RVs. And there's like a drumbeat of people who who like slides and don't like slides. And so I'm curious what side of that equation you're on and why.
Tony
So you can weigh in there again at our fun and friendly Stresses Campers Facebook group.
Peggy
We really do appreciate that you interact there and it doesn't have to be only go in and answer the question. If you have a question or a great story, an RV camping whatever, please share. We love to have people on there interacting and talking and sharing things and all that. Also, we talked about the newsletter once a week.
Tony
Just once a week.
Peggy
And that's it, once a week. We don't use your address to sell to anybody else or use it for any other purpose except to remind you that a podcast is coming out and to tell you where we're going to be this coming week.
Tony
And you can sign up on pretty much any page on our website, usually down at the bottom, but sometimes the pop-up pops up and and know again, we do protect your email address to the best of our ability. We really value that you share that with us.
Peggy
So if you're going in any way to read the show notes for this episode or to find one of the links that we've talked about, you can sign up for the newsletter and then read the notes for episode 326 on the podcast page.
Tony
Yep. And as Peggy said, you can check out our new favorite RV products and services page for the things you'll need for your stressless camping adventure. There's also a link there if you go to Amazon. So if you click that first and then go to Amazon or click any link that we have for Amazon, it actually does send us a teeny little thank you.
Tony
So we take just a little bit of Jeff Bezos cashola.
Peggy
Yeah.
Tony
And it doesn't cost you anything. You don't pay it. Jeff does.
Tony
It's kind of amazing. That's why it's taken so long to get rockets in the air.
Peggy
Uh huh, because we're taking all his money.
Tony
Taking his rocket money.
Peggy
When you've done all that reading and all that shopping and you're ready to jump off of stresslesscamping.com you can go to any of the social places with the little links at the top right of the page.
Tony
Yeah, we like wasting time there too, so we admit it. And audio listeners, if you don't want to miss a future episode of the Stressless Camping RV podcast, it's free to subscribe on any podcast app. We always save you a seat around our virtual campfire.
Peggy
YouTube watchers, we will pause for a moment if you'd like, because I want you to find that thumbs up button. Got it?
Peggy
Yeah. Uh-huh. Now, there's a bell that says subscribe. Go for it. Thank you.
Peggy
And now, if you're interested in taking a little pause, go ahead and find the share button. Copy it, pause us, and go put it on Facebook or something.
Tony
Yeah.
Peggy
And then come back.
Tony
Yep.
Peggy
Are you back?
Tony
All right. Well, thank you again for being with us again this week. If you have any questions about what we talk about, you can weigh those at our Facebook page. There's a contact us form on our website.
Tony
We're happy to answer any questions you might have. We also really appreciate your being with us here again. 326 times we've done this podcast. So thank you. Without you, we wouldn't be here.
Peggy
That's right. So with that, see you next week. And stressless camping.
Mark Ferrell
